Being a part of Telusu Kada

I love light-hearted films, but I ended up doing projects like KGF and HIT 3, which had a lot of bloodshed. I was waiting for a romantic drama that could change my image, and Telusu Kada came my way. The moment director Neeraja Kona narrated the script, I was thrilled and immediately said yes.

What attracted you to the film?

At first glance, Telusu Kada might look like a triangular love story, but it’s not. There are two romantic tracks, yet we’ve kept a surprising conflict point under wraps. Once that twist unfolds in theatres, audiences will be shocked. The film’s new-age storytelling and the unique theme it explores are its biggest USPs, which made me sign it without hesitation.

About your role in the film

I play Raaga, a modern and slightly possessive girl with grey shades—something I don’t personally relate to much. It was a challenging part, and viewers will see a completely new side of me. Every character in Telusu Kada has its own strength, and mine stands out distinctively.

Working with a lady director

Working with a woman director is always a privilege. Neeraja Kona brings immense experience and has beautifully highlighted the female characters in Telusu Kada. Having a filmmaker who truly understands a woman’s perspective is invaluable. Neeraja’s confidence, command over her craft, and the way she handles all three characters with a modern approach are among the film’s finest aspects.

A special quality about your co-star Siddhu Jonnalagadda

Siddhu’s comic timing is exceptional, and he has a powerful role in the film. He’s one of those rare actors who understands every aspect of filmmaking, which makes him unique. Our on-screen chemistry feels organic and fresh. As a writer himself, Siddhu brings great depth and authenticity to his performances.

About Thaman’s music

Thaman is in incredible form right now; everything he touches turns to gold. The music he’s composed for Telusu Kada is fantastic, with all the songs turning into chartbusters. His background score adds even more emotional weight to the film.

Working in Telugu cinema on back-to-back films

These days, language is no longer a barrier. I’ve had many Telugu friends since my college days, which helped me learn the language early on. After KGF, Telugu audiences welcomed me warmly. HIT 3 gave me a new wave of stardom, and Telusu Kada will hopefully take me even closer to the youth.

Are you working on Venkatesh’s next with Trivikram?

No, I’m not. I’ve heard the rumors, but they aren’t true. Of course, I would love to work with Trivikram sir and a star like Venkatesh someday. For now, I’m taking one project at a time and hoping Telusu Kada gives me a breakthrough in Telugu cinema.
