Tahir Raj Bhasin on Special Ops 2: 'Interaction with Kay Kay Menon's Himmat Singh was most challenging' | Exclusive

The reception for Special Ops 2 has been amazing ever since it was released. Kay Kay Menon's espionage thriller series is streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium. It sheds light on the growing threat of cyber-terrorism, as Himmat Singh (Menon) and his team face a digital enemy that uses artificial intelligence and could cause a massive data breach in India, the largest user of UPI. In the series, Tahir Raj Bhasin played the role of Sudheer Awasthi, known as The Collector, the main antagonist. In a new exclusive chat with OTTplay, Tahir shared the most challenging scene to shoot for Special Ops 2.

During an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Tahir Raj Bhasin was asked to share the most challenging scene to shoot for Special Ops 2. The actor revealed that it was the interaction with Kay Kay Menon's Himmat Singh. 

Tahir said, "The most challenging scene has to be my interaction with Himmat Singh because you are going head to head with Kay Kay Menon. As an acting exercise, projecting your character strength on screen that tests everything. If I had to list the second most challenging scene, that would have to be the fight sequence in a cage and it's with a fighter who is double my size. Managing to move with him and make that look convincing was very challenging."

When asked whether he has interacted much with Menon or any special advice he got from the senior actor, Tahir shared, "I interacted with Kay Kay a lot off-screen and mostly during the promotions, and it was like meeting a college senior, someone who's been through most of the experiences that every actor who goes through when they come to Bombay and they are not from the industry."

He also added, "I think the best advice he gave is to focus on the process and to focus on the craft and to find your joy in that. That was the deepest advice that one can get."

Special Ops 2 shows R&AW agent Himmat Singh (Kay Kay Menon) racing against time to prevent a large-scale cyberattack on India. The story revolves around the kidnapping of Dr. Bhargava, a cybersecurity expert who is key to India's digital infrastructure, including the UPI system. He is kidnapped by Sudheer Awasthi (Tahir Raj Bhasin).

The series also features Karan Tacker, Vinay Pathak, Muzammil Ibrahim, Saiyami Kher, Gautami Kapoor, and Meher Vij. Apart from them, the cast also includes Prakash Raj (new addition), Dilip Tahil, Parmeet Sethi, Kali Prasad Mukherjee, Gautami Kapoor, Arif Zakaria, Kamakshi Bhat, Shikha Talsania, and Vikkas Manaktala.
