A Hero

The plot revolves around a man named Rahim (Amir Jadidi), who must repay a debt or face a prison sentence. His appeal for a respite leads him to bigger problems. On a two-day leave, Rahim tries to convince his creditor to withdraw the complaint, but things take a turn for the worse and everything falls apart. Soft and affable, Rahim is seen trying to handle desperate situations, all with a smile and hopeful eyes. Father to a son with a speech impediment, he is divorced and stays with his sister and her family. Though he is on parole, Rahim finds a hack to cut short his prison sentence and pay his debts with their respective fines. His girlfriend Farkhondeh (Sahar Goldust) informs him of a recent spate of luck after she chanced upon a misplaced handbag with a few gold coins in it. After the visit to the pawnbroker, Rahim realises the money he’ll get from the sale may not be enough to bail him out. He then has a sudden change of heart and decides to return the coins to their rightful owner. But instead of congratulating Rahim for returning the prized possession, he questions Rahim’s motives altogether.
