Bala

Bala, directed by Amar Kaushik is a romantic comedy which was released in 2019. The movie revolves around Balmukund "Bala" Shukla (Ayushmann Khurrana) who used to be a popular kid in school known for his hair. As a kid he used to berate his teacher for being bald as well as Latika Trivedi (Bhumi Pednekar) for being dark skinned. Now Bala himself is balding and works as a fairness cream salesman by day and nightclub comic by night. Bala blames his father for the baldness who gives him a wig. With this Bala is back with his confidence and also manages to get married to his childhood crush, Pari (Yami Gautam). Latika on the other hand is rejected by multiple men because of her dark skin. She meets Rohit who tells her that he saw her on Instagram and has liked her since then. The Instagram was a fake made by Bala since Latika was never on it. She lashes out at Bala and Pari learns that he is bald. Pari decides to get an annulment and file a case. Bala gets Latika as her lawyer to fight his case and between all that he fell for her. Bala agreed to the annulment and decided to propose Latika who refused. Bala finally got the courage to own his baldness.
