Band Baaja Baaraat, directed by Maneesh Sharma is a romantic comedy which is also his directorial debut which was released in 2010. The movie revolves around Bittoo Sharma (Ranveer Singh) and Shruti Kakkar (Anushka Sharma). He crashes her wedding and also tries to impress her with a DVD he compiled of her dance at the wedding. Whilst Bittoo is gone to the village Shruti is asked to be pressured into a marriage. Bittoo and Shruti get into a wedding planning partnership for work and go to Chanda Narang (Shena Gamat), a famous wedding planner, he rejects Shruti but offers Bittoo a place. Bittoo says that he will only accept if he takes in Shruti too. Both of them quit when Shruti learned about Chanda’s work ethic and started their own venture named Shaadi Mubaarak. Bittoo ends up falling in love and the two have a huge fight. Both of them end up opening different companies. They are forced to work together for a big client. Bittoo asks Shruti to marry Chetan as he is good for her but she refuses. Shruti calls off the engagement and Bittoo realises he loves Shruti. The two ended up getting married.
