Blue Star

Set against the backdrop of the Chennai railway town Arakkonam in the 1990s, two cricket captains, Ranjith and Rajesh, set off a politically rife rivalry intertwined with caste identities and sportsmanship. Will they manage to squash their differences and come to a middle ground or will they ruin their chances of playing at all? Blue Star is a Tamil sports drama film produced by Pa. Ranjith under his banner Neelam Productions, and features the directorial debut of S. Jayakumar in a script he co-wrote with Thamizh Prabha. Ashok Selvan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Keerthi Pandian, Prithvi Rajan, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumarave, Lizzie Antony and Saju Navodaya play significant roles in the film with music music composed by Govind Vasantha.
