Borunbabur Bondhu

Directed by Anil Datta, Borunbabur Bondhu is a 2019 Bengali film inspired by Ramapada Chowdhury's story Chhad. The film stars Soumitra Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty, Madhabi Mukhoapdhyay & Koushik Sen. The story of an isolated old man, Borunbabu living with his family and the difference between his ideology to that of other people around him is the main plot point of the movie. The hypocrisies play throughout the movie and the audience gets a real sense of what the Bengali middle class family lives revolve around. Although the life of Borunbabu is not an ordinary one, it still picks up bits and pieces from the ordinary people around him and that's where the movie establishes it's relatability.
