The development and production of the film took place at a high budget to show a leader with excellence and that one dreadful day, owing to financial pressure, V.P. Sathyan committed suicide. Sathyan began his career in 1983 and led his team to the gold medal as well. This legendary football player from Kerala committed suicide by jumping in front of a suburban electric train at Pallavaram station in Chennai.
