Disco Dancer

Directed by Babbar Subhash, Disco Dance was released on 17 December 1982. It is the story of a street performer and wedding singer from the slums, Anil (Mithun Chakraborty) whose life changed after he met David Brown, the manager (Om Puri) who made him a star. David is tired of Sam’s (Karan Razdan) and starts looking for someone new. He sees Anil dancing on the streets and recruits him, rebranding him as Jimmy. Jimmy falls in love with Rita (Kim), Oberoi's daughter, The same man who assaulted his mother. Oberoi kills Jimmy’s mother by connecting Jimmy's electric guitar to 5,000 volts of electricity. Oberoi's goons also break his legs but he is soon able to walk with Rita’s help. At the big dance competition, the International Disco Dancing Competition Jimmy is given words of wisdom and courage by Raju and he rocks the stage. Oberoi’s goons end up killing Raju which angers Jimmy and he kills them and Oberoi gets electrocuted as well.
