E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, directed by Steven Spielberg is one of the most prominent and important science fiction movies made till date. Spielberg changed the whole scenario of alien based movies with E.T. which was released in 1982. The movie revolves around a boy named Elliot (Henry Thomas) who finds an alien, E.T and befriends him. The story goes around Elliot and E.T becoming best of friends and Elliot with his friends trying to help E.T go back home. E.T is also being hunted down by a government agent, Keys (Peter Coyote). The movie takes an emotional turn by the end when E.T boards the spaceship and before leaving he embraces Elliott and tells him "I'll be right here" and pokes his forehead with a glowing finger. This scene gets so emotional that it is known to make adults cry.
