Written and directed by Rosalind Ross, the 2020 biographical drama film is Ross’ directorial debut. The film is produced by Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Jordan Foss, starring Wahlberg in the lead as Stuart Long. The film is a biopic of Father Stuart “Stu” Long, a former boxer who became a Catholic priest. The film follows his life as he moves to Los Angeles to earn a living after an injury puts an end to his boxing career. On meeting Carmen, a supermarket clerk who is also a Sunday school teacher, the agnostic former boxer becomes determined to win her over. Things take an unexpected turn when he gets into a motorcycle accident. Apart from Wahlberg, the cast includes Teresa Ruiz, Jacki Weaver, Mel Gibson, Aaron Moten, Cody Fern, Carlos Leal, Malcolm McDowell and Niko Nicotera, among others.
