Kanchivaram

Kanchivaram is a 2008 Hindi dubbed drama film starring Prakash Raj and Shriya Reddy. Venkatam is a poverty-stricken silk weaver in the town of Kanchivaram in pre-independent India, who cannot afford a silk saree for his wife Annam. He promises his daughter an expensive Kanchivaram silk sari at the time of her wedding. Soon, Venkatam is drawn towards communism and fights for better wages for the weavers. Will Venkatam be able to fulfil his wish of weaving a silk saree for his daughter?
