Little Miss Sunshine

Little Miss Sunshine, a 2006 movie, is directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It is a comedy and drama film involving a road trip, starring Greg Kinnear as Richard and Abigail Breslin as Olive. The movie revolves around a family with the family members going through various stuff, like the son, Dwayne has taken a vow of silence until he becomes a fighter pilot, Dwayne’s father Richard striving, to build a career as a motivational speaker and life coach, and Richard’s father, Edwin, recently evicted from a retirement home for snorting heroin, lives with the family as well. As the movie takes a grip, Olive, Richard and Sheryl’s youngest daughter, qualifies for the "Little Miss Sunshine" beauty pageant in California for two days. The whole family, including Dwayne and Sheryl’s brother, Frank, after Edwin, Olive, and her parents decide to go on a trip to California. The trip makes the members realize the importance of each other and the love and support they have for one and another. This movie gives out a true message of the world and the day to day life of a family or as a person like Olive. Everyone might not have the same crazy family, but the film did make others relate to them. Michael Medved, American radio show host, political commentator, and film critic, rated the movie highest at his level and even implied that “this startling and irresistible dark comedy counts as one of the very best films of the year.”
