Directed by Kamal Amrohi, Mahal is a 1949 Hindi language horror thriller drama starring Madhubala, Ashok Kumar, Vijay Laxmi & Kanu Roy. The story was a big hit & the highest grossing for that year. Shankar moves to a massive palace where the gardener narrates the story of the previous owner who bought the house for his lover Kamini and would meet her only for a few hours in the night. Accidentally, his ship drowned and he died but promised Kamini that their love would be eternal. Kamini died a few days after. Shankar roams around the house and finds a portrait of Kamini's lover who looks exactly like him. Shankar hears Kamini's voice and follows it, the story grows darker and deeper as it moves forward but a secret lies within, what is it??
