Newton

Newton is a 2017 Indian Hindi - language black comedy drama film directed by Amit V. Masurkar. The film follows the life of Nutan (Newton) Kumar who is a government clerk and is sent to a Naxal area for election duty. He is reluctant to go as he doesn’t want to risk his life but eventually reaches the place. Upon reaching there, he finds out about the ways of living of the locals and the prevailing dangers in their life. He also gets to know that the residents are not aware about the voting process, therefore, he tries to explain it to them but nobody gets what he is trying to say. But still he desperately attempts to educate them. Looking at the scenario, Aatma Singh steps in and explains the locals about the voting process but to Newton’s shock, he leaves out the important details about the election process as well as its benefits and drawbacks. This is when Newton realizes that Aatma Singh is just interested in votes and not in spreading awareness and welfare of the people. Therefore, Newton vows to educate the locals and make their lives better.
