Nishant

Nishant is a 1975 Hindi - language drama film directed by Shyam Benegal. The film follows the life of Vishwam, a fine young man and a really hard - working person. He is married to Rukmini and is an introvert in nature who speaks only when necessary. He is the youngest son of Zamindar. The Zamindar is a kind of person who will go to any lengths to protect his family no matter what he has to do for it. He has two elder brothers Anjaiya and Prasad who often indulge in unlawful things like alcohol and women. But, Vishwam is not like his brothers and totally opposite. One day a school master is transferred to the village and he comes along with his wife, Sushila. Vishwam is instantly attracted to her but Sushila does not show any such feelings. One night, Anjaiya and Prasad take her forcibly from her house in presence of several villagers. The school master vows to seek justice. However, he is denied justice by the law but he still doesn’t give up.
