Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha

In this retelling of the story of Chandu Chekavar, the folk hero's traitorous character is portrayed in a new light. Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha follows his unlucky and misunderstood life as it eventually leads him to commit an act of ultimate betrayal. This Malayalam historical drama is written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair, produced by P. V. Gangadharan and directed by Hariharan. Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Balan K. Nair, Madhavi and Captain Raju play significant roles in the film.
