Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran

Parmanu: The story of Pokhran is a 2018 Indian Hindi - language historical action drama film. It is directed by Abhishek Sharma and stars John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani. The film is set in the year 1995 and follows the journey of Ashwat Raina, an IAS officer from Research and analysis wing. He suggests his superiors to perform a nuclear test but the PMO ridiculed his plans. However, PMO submits his plan to the Prime Minister with half of the details left out and goes on with the plan without Ashwat’s participation. As the plan was executed with half the details, therefore, it failed and Ashwat lost his job. Three years later, a new Prime Minister was elected who confronted Ashwat about his failure. Ashwat informed that the main part of the plan was to keep it a secret but nobody listened to him and went on with the plan without him. Thus, the plan failed. Ashwat is given a second chance to prove himself and he starts to prepare a team in order to carry out the mission successfully.
