Pickpocket Roshan (Dev Anand) hides his lifestyle from his gullible and trusting mother (Lalita Pawar), who thinks her son is a thriving and hard-working businessman. Life changes for the thief when he swipes the wallet of a poor man, who was planning to give the money to his impoverished family. When the poor man commits suicide after losing his life's savings, guilt-ridden Roshan travels to the dead man's village to pay off his debts. But making amends and getting away with stealing is not as easy as he thinks.
