In the unfortunate situation of his young daughter and her friend going missing, Keller Dover, a desperate father finds himself at odds with the detective on the case as they arrest a young man and releases him, which forces him to take matters into his own hands. Written by Aaron Guzikowski, Prisoners is an American crime thriller film directed by Denis Villeneuve. The film features performances from an ensemble cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano. The film has garnered much critical acclaim, with Roger Deakins being nominated for an Oscar for Best Cinematography at the 86th Academy Awards.
