Proloy

Directed and written by Raj Chakraborty, Proloy is a Bengali thriller film released in the year 2013. The film stars Mimi Chakraborty, Saswata Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Paran Bandyopadhyay, Indraadip Dasgupta and several others. The storyline of this film represents the story of a village named Dukhia which is in Bengal. Gang rapes have become a common dilemma there. No girl is spared, doesn’t matter if they’re aged or children because the criminals have support from political parties. An idealist local teacher named Barun Biswas thinks to bring a change as he thinks it's his social responsibility but he gets murdered. He formed an activist social group named “Jagaran Mancha”. Later, the story has many twists and turns and we see how all the criminals are punished in semi-legal ways by Animesh Dutta, a special cop. This film is a must watch especially because of the performances, direction and cinematography.
