Sequels tended to and expected to reach the bar above the original, which was clearly witnessed with Punyalan Private Limited. This Malayalam political satire movie is a sequel to the 2013 film Punyalan Agarbathis. Punyalan Private Limited, directed by Ranjith Sankar with Jayasurya and Aju Varghese in the leads, emerged in the year 2017. Jayasurya, in the role of Joy, acts as an aspiring entrepreneur who discovers a second outing when he loses his first company to debt. Although his second discovery, which involved using elephant urine, started to face trouble from a politician, he fights back with the same enthusiasm involving a perfect climax. Ranjith Sankar exclaims that he came up with this story while he was traveling back in 2015. He was returning through a train but ended up at a railway station when the train was late, thus coming up with the plot.
