Sarkar

Sarkar is a 2005 Indian Hindi - language film directed by Ram Gopal Varma. It is a political crime thriller film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Kay Kay Menon, Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak and Katrina Kaif. The story starts with Subhash Nagre who is called Sarkar out of respect by his followers. He has two sons – Vishnu, the crooked one and Shankar, the honest one. One day, a Dubai based don, Rasheed tries to strike a deal with Sarkar but he refuses and also advises him to not go on the wrong path. Therefore, Rasheed along Sarkar’s former associate, Mani plot against Sarkar. They kill an honest man, Ahinsa who always criticized Sarkar. Hence, everybody believes the killer to be Sarkar including Vishnu. But, Shankar has faith in his father. Shankar takes place of Sarkar temporarily to provide justice to the locals. He also wants revenge on behalf of his father. At the same time, he feels that someone wants to kill his father but the commissioner laughs upon hearing this. Shankar suspects foul play in this matter. Therefore, he vows to seek justice and at the same time protect his father.
