Thalappavu

Thalappavu is a 2008 Indian Malayalam language film directed by Madhupal. This is a drama film based on real life events. It follows the story of police constable Raveendran and how he encounters a Naxal leader who was also his friend. The film is set in the 70’s. Raveendran meets Joseph and the former likes the latter for his ideals. They strike a friendship and often meet in the forest. Raveendran, a constable, often feels welcomed by Joseph, a naxalite leader. However, the story takes a wild turn when Joseph must be killed, as higher orders are given. Constable Raveendran executes the order and kills Joseph. From then on inRaveendran’s life, he is haunted by his own actions.
