The Lunchbox

The Lunchbox is a 2013 Indian Hindi - language directed by Ritesh batra. It is an epistolary romance film starring Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddique. In Mumbai, the lonely widower Saajan Fernandes works in the accounting department of a company and is going to retire soon. He is assigned to train Shaikh, who is a needy orphan and is going to replace him after his retirement. One day, Fernandes mistakenly receives the wrong lunchbox that is prepared by a housewife, Ila to her estranged husband Rajeev and Fernandes believes that the restaurant that sends his food has improved the quality of the meal. On the next day, he receives a note from Ila inside the lunchbox and they begin to chat with each other everyday through these notes. Meanwhile, Ila suspects that her husband is having a love affair and everyday Fernandes and Ila get excited as well as anxious to read the note from the other. One day, Ila invites Fernandes to meet her in a restaurant. The two are really excited to meet each other and at the same time, they are also nervous.
