The Revenant

The Revenant is a 2015 American English - language film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu. It is an epic Western action-adventure period drama film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, and Will Poulter. The film is based on the 2002 novel by Michael Punke that goes by the same name. The film is set in the 1820s in America during the harsh winters. Fur trapper and Frontiersman Hugh Glass struggles to survive these cruel winters after an oppressive attack by the Indian and a mauling from a hostile maternal bear. After being abandoned by his crew, Glass attempts to cross the bleak wasteland with only revenge on his mind.
