From the first frame, you know you’re in for something special and it’s pretty clear that Leonardo has given his everything to this film.
Leonardo DiCaprio, as DiCaprio does, gives this film all he has got, and more, as he crawls, strips, grunts and grates, and is butchered and butchers in return, for revenge.
The Revenant declares its intention to be a metaphysical meditation on death and resurrection as well as a nail-biting action movie in its first few scenes.
The Revenant is not just a film but a demonstration of how far the Alejandro Inarritu can go visually, however DiCaprio’s character is Bollywoodised to the highest degree.
