Joachim Trier's film is about Julie, a thirty-something woman who is straddling a precarious moment in her relationships, flinging between careers, navigating the fluctuating troughs of her situation. Her committed relationship with her much elder boyfriend is interrupted by another spark of romance that reconfigures her understanding of herself and what she looks for. Renate Reinsve won the Cannes Best Actress award for her performance as Julie. Anders Danielsen Lie plays the elder boyfriend. The film marks the culmination of the Oslo trilogy.
