Tukaram

Tukaram is a 2012 Indian-Marathi language film directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni. It is a biopic film on the life of the spiritual saint, Tukaram. The film revolves around his childhood, his mature years and how he went on to become a Saint. Tukaram was born and raised in a happy family. He grew up to be the ideal son who helped his father in his money lending business. The whole family were devotees of Lord Vitthal. The turning point of the story is a famine which turns Tukaram’s world upside down. Most of Tukaram’s close ones perish. But Tukaram does not give up and devotes whatever is left of his life to Lord Vitthal and becomes a saint, finally becoming Sant Tukaram.
