Attahasa, a 2013 movie is directed by A.M.R. Ramesh. It is a Kannada crime-thriller film, starring Kishore and Arjun Sarja in the leads. The film is based on the real Veerappan, who was active for 36 years, involved in kidnapping and murdering. The film explores the infamous and notorious forest brigand Veerappan, who smuggles sandalwood and ivory and shows his power by killing innocent human beings. Kishore plays Veerappan’s role, while Arjun Sarja, in the role of IPS Vijay Kumar, sets up a team to catch him and his gang. The real-life of Veerappan shown on the screen depicts his criminal activity and death through Vijay Kumar. Although the movie explores Veerapan’s real-life after Ramesh, the movie’s director, researched him for ten years, Muthulakshmi, Veerappan's wife, filed a case regarding the movie depicting a bad image of her husband.
