Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a 1988 American English - language film directed by Robert Zemeckis. It is a live-action/animated comedy-mystery film which stars Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd, Charles Fleischer, Stubby Kaye and Joanna Cassidy. It is based on Gary K. Wolf’s 1981 novel Who Censored Roger Rabbit? The film starts when producer R.K. Maroon hires a private investigator named Eddie Valiant to investigate an adultery scandal involving Jessica Rabbit, the sultry wife of Maroon's biggest star, Roger Rabbit. But soon, Marvin Acme, Jessica's alleged paramour and the owner of Toontown is found dead and all the eyes are on Roger.
