In this Hindi comedy drama film, a wealthy and witty dwarf Bauua Singh is deeply worried about never finding a partner. This is why he is jumps at the oppurtunity to romance Aafia Bhinder, a space scientist with cerebral palsy. After successfully wooing her, Bauua and Aafia decide to marry but their marriage falls through forcing Bauua to leave the city. As she travels far, he encounters the popular film actress Babita and becomes close to her. The two share a semi-romantic and intimate relationship that threatens Bauua's chances of reconciling with Aafia. Caught in between two women and his dreams to be recognised and respected, Bauua must take some severe measures to alter all that went wrong in his life. Zero is written by Himanshu Sharma and directed by Aanand L. Rai. Shah Rukh Khan plays the protagonist alongside Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Abhay Deol, R. Madhavan and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub play who play lead roles in the drama. 


To lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil, Ajay–Atul compose the soundtrack. Although the film received mixed reviews, the special effects and Khan's performance as a midget were highly praised. It earned the film seven nominations at the 64th Filmfare Awards including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and won Best Special Effects.
