ZEE5 released a gritty trailer of its upcoming movie State of Siege: Temple attack, which will mark Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna’s OTT debut. Based on true events, the action-thriller will trace the 2002 attack on Akshardham temple in Gujarat. It will showcase how the National Security Guard (NSG) commandos rescued all the hostages, barring 30 people who lost their lives.
Directed by Ken Ghosh and produced by Abhimanyu Singh and Contiloe Pictures, the film stars veteran actor Akshaye along with Manjari Fadnnis, Vivek Dahiya, Gautam Rode, Mridul Das, Samir Soni and Akshay Oberoi.
In an interview Akshaye was quoted as saying, “To be able to wear ‘the uniform’ without taking the oath of the ultimate sacrifice this is a privilege that only an actor is afforded.” He further emphasised that he has been focused on not disrespecting this privilege during the production of the film.
With its catchphrase, sahas ki vijay (victory of the courageous), the film looks quite intriguing and promises a lot of action and thrills. The film is set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and is slated for a release on July 9 on the OTT platform.
ZEE5 had previously released a web series titled, State of Siege: 26/11, chronicling the NSG commandos narrative in rescuing Mumbai during the 26/11 terrorist attack.
