Release anniversaries of films come and go every second day but the 10-year-anniversary of Ishq's release would certainly mean a lot to Nithiin, for it changed the trajectory of his career after over 13 flops. Ishq was a make-or-break film for Nithiin and the actor responded to the challenge brilliantly with a composed, entertaining performance and shared lovely chemistry with Nithya Menen. Ishq's success helped its director Vikram K Kumar land an iconic film like Manam and gave the foundation for composer Anup Rubens to scale bigger heights in his career.
Commemorating the 10 years of Ishq, Nithiin tweeted earlier in the day. "It鈥檚 so overwhelming as I think that it鈥檚 been 10 years of this beautiful movie #Ishq. The credits go to my director @vikramkkumar @pcsreeram sir @anuprubens and my costar @nithyamenen and all the cast and crew. Thanking each and everyone for all the love towards the movie! 馃馃," he wrote. Ishq was produced under Nithiin's home banner Shresht Movies and also had the team rope in the legendary PC Sreeram for the cinematography.
Most of the songs in the film are hummed by music lovers even today, be it Oh Priya Priya, Sootiga Choodaku, Edo Edo Undi or Chinnadana Nee Kosam. Vikram K Kumar didn't try to do reinvent the wheel with Ishq but gave a refreshing spin to a regular boy-meets-girl story. The story revolves around two flight mates who fall in love with one another during a flight delay though matters complicate when the guy realises that the girl's brother was once his nemesis.
Ajay, Sindhu Tolani, Rohini, Nagineedu and Ali also play important roles in Ishq that was edited by A Sreekar Prasad and had fantastic dialogues by R Samala. The film was remade in Bengali, Tamil, Odia and dubbed in Malayalam later as well.
