The Chhapaak actor recently discussed social media toxicity and how it affects him when people just give one-word or one-line reviews of his work in an exclusive chat with OTTplay. Vikrant said: "It depends who it's coming from. I am not extremely active on social media but I was. I used to spend 3 hours on a daily basis on social media. But it's very toxic, it became a counterproduct for me. It really affected my mental health. it really affected my relationships."
He added, "But when it comes to work feedback, when you talk about reviews and constructive feedback, I know, unfortunately, how the scenario is today because of social media. Why is someone reviewing in a certain way, why is someone liking it or not liking it, hence I do not take it very seriously. I make films for my audiences, and some of those audiences are influenced by those people, I give them the benefit of the doubt, so god bless them but I primarily make films for my audience. And to make sure that the ones who are spending money on me, my producers, my directors, my writers, the first approval has to be theirs. Are they happy with what I have given them, and then the audiences."
"Certain constructive criticism, kaun keh raha hai main us hisaab se dekhta hoon, and there are certain journalists I know, so-called reviewers and trade analysts, I know why they are saying certain things, it's okay, good for them," Vikrant Massey concluded.
Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey starrer 12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra released in the theatres today, on October 27, 2023.
