12th Man: Mohanlal-starrer’s latest teasers showcase the modus operandi and weapons of the suspected killers

The release date of Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s much-awaited whodunit mystery film, 12th Man, is almost here and the latest teasers hint what the movie is about. While the first teaser revealed that the movie is about the three lives of its characters – the public, private and secret ones, the latest three promo videos hint at the various clues of the suspected killer.

While the videos shared on Mohanlal’s social media pages come with captions such as ‘the truth cannot be hidden for long’ and ‘one of us is the killer but none of us are innocent’, the three teasers, featuring Sshivada, Unni Mukundan and Anusree also unveil some common modus operandi used by killers.

The video featuring Sshivada, who plays Dr Nayana in the movie, has her choosing poison as her weapon of choice. While Unni Mukundan goes with a gun, Anusree, who will be seen as Shiny in the film, chooses death by asphyxia as her modus operandi with her flaunting a rope.

The film has 12 central characters including the trio that are played by actors such as Saiju Kurup, Anu Sithara, Leona Lishoy, Anu Mohan, Chandunath, Rahul Madhav, Aditi Ravi and Priyanka Nair.

In an exclusive interview with us, director Jeethu said that all 12 characters have distinct identities in the film and are as important as Mohanlal’s character. “The script of the film has been structured in such a way that all characters have equal prominence,” he said.

The film, which is scripted by Krishnakumar KR, is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on May 20. It will mark Mohanlal and Jeethu’s second direct-to-OTT release after Drishyam 2, which dropped on Amazon Prime Video last year. 12th Man is also Mohanlal’s second OTT release on Hotstar this year after Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial Bro Daddy in January.
