12th Man: Unni Mukundan says the mystery in Mohanlal-led film comes from the team of Drishyam and that speaks quality

Mohanlal’s 12th Man is one of the most-anticipated Malayalam movies that is set for its direct-to-OTT release. The film, directed by Jeethu Joseph, is a multi-starrer and Unni Mukundan is one of the star cast in the movie. The actor recently has now talked about why fans can expect a quality movie from thr thriller drama, 12th Man.

Talking to Times of India, the actor said, “‘12th Man’ is primarily a Jeethu Joseph-Mohanlal movie. I am glad to be a part of that film. Being a thriller, I cannot talk much about it. It’s the team that has done the ‘Drishyam’ franchise, and that speaks volumes about the upcoming film!”

The actor also said that he wanted to be a part of a good team and that he believes that he has done justice to his role. He added that 12th Man has an ensemble star cast and that he had the opportunity to work with talented actors. Unni also revealed that he is looking forward to watching the movie and hearing the feedback from the fans. 

The Jeethu Joseph-Mohanlal duo has delivered two of the most celebrated thrillers in recent years with Drishyam and its sequel Drishyam 2. 12th Man will be the third movie from the combo with the upcoming action flick and Ram, being the fourth. 

In an exclusive with OTTplay, the director had revealed that the movie, which comes under the mystery genre, is close to Agatha Christie's novel and that the suspense is the highlight of the movie. 

Apart from Mohanlal and Unni, the movie’s cast also includes Sshivada, Anu Sithara, Chandunath, Nandu, Leona Lishoy, Saiju Kurup, Anu Mohan, Anusree, Aditi Ravi, Rahul Madhav and Priyanka Nair.

The mystery, which is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, is set to start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from May 20.
