Karthikeya 2 pair Nikhil Siddhartha and Anupama Parameswaran joined hands again for a romance drama 18 Pages, which hit theatres on December 23. Written by popular filmmaker Sukumar and directed by Palnati Surya Pratap, the film was produced by Bunny Vas under GA2 Pictures. Sarayu, Ajay, Raj Tirandasu, Dinesh Tej and Ravi Varma essayed crucial roles in the film as well.

Not one, but two platforms have acquired the digital rights of 18 Pages. Telugu OTT platform aha and leading streamer Netflix, as part of a joint deal, will most likely premiere the movie in the latter half of January 2023. Gopi Sundar’s songs, Nannaya Raasina, Yedurangula Vaana and Time Ivvu Pilla, proved to be a huge boost for 18 Pages in the lead-up to its release for the Christmas weekend.

Time Ivvu Pilla, a break up song, was sung by Tamil star Silambarasan. 18 Pages had a top notch technical team. While A Vasanth had cranked the camera for the same, the film was edited by Navin Nooli. Produced under GA2 Pictures in collaboration with Sukumar Writings, Shreemani was the sole lyricist for Gopi Sundar’s album. The producers registered profits even before the film’s release owing to the non-theatrical deals.

The story revolves around Siddu, a software employee, who is head over heels in love with Preethi, but their relationship falls apart when the latter cheats on him. While lamenting over his past, he comes across a diary of a girl named Nandini in the middle of a road. With every page in the book, Siddu becomes more obsessed with Nandini and his outlook towards life drastically changes by the day. There’s a twist in the tale when Siddu tries to trace Nandini’s wherabouts.

OTTplay.com, in its review on 18 Pages wrote, “18 Pages neither leaves you totally satisfied nor does it disappoint you. It certainly has a promising story though the finesse in the execution is amiss. Nikhil and Anupama Parameswaran’s performances and Gopi Sundar’s music save the day.”
