Nuvve Nuvve, the rom-com featuring Tarun, Shriya Saran in lead roles, had released on October 10, exactly 20 years ago. The film was Trivikram’s first ever directorial effort, produced under Sravanthi Movies. Prakash Raj, Sudha, Rajeev Kanakala, Sunil and Chandramohan played important roles too. Commemorating its release anniversary, Tarun recollected his Nuvve Nuvve memories.
“I am so happy that Nuvve Nuvve, directed by Trivikram, is turning 20 today. It’s a special film in my career and I congratulate the entire team for it. Films made by Sravanthi Movies have a unique vibe besides offering entertainment. The songs in their films are equally special - Nuvve Nuvve, Nuvve Kaavali and Ela Cheppanu were great albums,” Tarun said.
“I made my debut with Nuvve Kavali, for which Trivikram was a writer. It is extremely special that I was the hero in his first film as a director. Songs in Trivikram’s films after Nuvve Nuvve too are a treat for music buffs. Shriya is a very friendly and a jovial person on sets and I’ve done three films with her - Nuvve Nuvve, Ela Cheppanu and Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu,” he added.
Tarun mentioned, “Even when audiences watch it today, they tell me it’s a superb film. It feels nice and the film is still fresh in my mind.” The film’s songs composed by Koti, including Naa Manusukemayindi, the title track, I am very sorry, turned out to be a rage among music lovers. Hari Anumolu had cranked the camera for it while Trivikram also wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues.
The film’s story revolved around an over-protective father not giving his daughter enough freedom in her love life and a series of clashes between him and his would-be son-in-law. A special screening of Nuvve Nuvve is being organised in Hyderabad today at AMB Cinemas with the entire cast and crew in attendance.
