Tovino Thomas' hit film 2018, helmed by Jude Anthany Joseph, was one of the biggest commercial hits the Malayalam film industry has ever witnessed. The film, which is about the devastating floods that shook Kerala, was lauded for its visuals, which gave a thrilling theatre experience to the viewers.
Now, Mindstein Studios, which worked on the film's visual effects, has released a VFX breakdown video for 2018. The video shows how technology was used to create various visual effects, including that of a bridge destroyed by a flood and an overhead shot of a dam.
There is also a scene in the film in which a snake is shown inside a flood-hit house, which was created using VFX.
Mindstein Studios has also done the VFX work for films like Minnal Murali, Ajayante Randam Moshanam, and Neelavelicham.

Based on the 2018 floods, the film revolves around the rescue events that took place in Kerala, highlighting the roles of the government, volunteers, and fishermen. Scripted by Akhil P Dharmajan and Jude Anthany Joseph, the film was largely shot on a 15-acre film set in Vaikom.
