3BHK, the recently released Tamil film featuring actor Siddharth in the lead role, is a family drama. It hit theatres on July 4, and released in Tamil and Telugu. With actors Sarathkumar, Devyani, Meethu Ragunath, Chaithra Achar playing prominent roles, let’s see how much did the film collect on its first day.
3BHK revolves around a family from middle-class background who wants to buy a house of their own. The film travels over a period of time, and takes us through the challenges of the family members as they progress in their respective lives.

Directed by filmmaker Sri Ganesh who previously made 8 Thottakal and Trigger, 3BHK made Rs 1 crore on day one in India, as per Sacnilk report. With known names like Siddharth, Sarathkumar, Devyani, Meethu Ragunath, Chaithra Achar in the cast, the film might see jump during the weekend even as it received mixed to positive reviews from critics. 3BHK marks the reunion of Sarathkumar and Devyani who starred in the iconic Tamil film Suryavamsam.
3BHK features Sarathkumar and Devyani as married couple whose children are played by Siddharth and Meetha. The film explores the hardships and practical difficulties that a typical Indian middle-class family would go through; from paying to tuition fees to hospital expenditures. But their single ambition is to buy a 3BHK house that they can call their own. But do they succeed in it forms the crux of 3BHK. The film marks the debut of Kannada actor Chaithra Achar.
The technical crew of 3BHK consists of Dinesh Krishnan B and Jithin Stanislaus cranking the camera, and Amrit Ramnath, son of well-esteemed playback singer Bombay Jayashri, scoring the music. Ganesh Siva is the editor, and Vinoth Rajkumar N handles production design. An OTT partner for 3BHK is yet to be announced, while you can watch the film in theatres right now.
