An accountant getting grilled in court for fraud, a prosecutor with no mercy, and a debonair defence lawyer; these elements from the latest trailer for ZEE5’s 420 IPC definitely paint an intriguing picture. The upcoming courtroom drama will premiere exclusively on ZEE5 on December 17.

The trailer gives viewers a peek into the film’s absorbing premise: Vinay Pathak plays an accountant who is informed that his client is part of a scam that involves a whopping 1200 crore rupees. As expected, the authorities circle in on him, suspecting him to be a part of the shady dealings and inspect every financial transaction he has been a part of, both professional and personal.

He is taken to court and a merciless prosecutor grills him on his past transactions. But as things start to look grim for the accountant, a young defence lawyer comes to his aid, although it remains to be seen if he has what it takes to get the accountant off with a clean chit.

Along with Pathak, 420 IPC stars Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag and Rohan Vinod Mehra in pivotal roles. The series comes from the creators of the Richa Chadda and Akshaye Khanna starrer Section 375.
