45 movie box office collection day 1: Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra and Raj B Shetty’s forces put together couldn’t outrun Kichcha Sudeep’s Max opening

45, the Kannada multi-starrer film featuring Shiva Rajkummar, Upendra and Raj B Shetty in the lead roles, is one of the two major Kannada cinema’s Christmas releases this year. The film debuted in theatres on Thursday. Despite some big names headlining the film, 45 has made only Rs 4.25 crore during its opening at the Indian box office.

45 is a recently released Kannada fantasy action drama, starring the stalwarts of Kannada cinema; Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra and filmmaker Raj B Shetty. The film marks the directorial debut of music composer Arjun Janya.

As per Sacnilk, the film has had an opening box office collection of Rs 4.25 crore, on Thursday. The numbers are very low given it features stars in the lead roles. It is also to be noted that 45 did not manage to beat Mark, the Kichcha Sudeepa-starrer which also released on Thursday and had an opening of over Rs 6 crore. However, with the weekend yet to begin, 45 might see some audience coming to theatres, thanks for its star-studded cast.

While Shiva Rajkumar had appeared in Firefly and Veera Chandrahasa this year, both the roles were limited to cameo appearances, making 45 his only full-fledged release this year. Meanwhile for Upendra who made a cameo in Coolie, had Telugu film Andhra King Taluka and his directorial-starrer UI this year. Out of the lot, it is Raj B Shetty who made a mark with his production Su From So that went on to become a blockbuster.

Written and directed by Arjun Janya who also scored the music, 45 also features Rajendran, Jisshu Sengupta, Pooja Ramachandran, and others. Satya Hegde has cranked the camera and KM Prakash is the editor. The film is about a Vinay who bumps into Rayappa due to a traffic accident with the latter threatening him of violence. 45 revolves around concepts of the afterlife, and takes references from Garuda Purana.
