Based on actual events from the 1980s, Raktanchal is a crime drama set in Purvanchal, Uttar Pradesh. This show follows the life of Waseem Khan, a mafia leader who gets involved in smuggling arms, and Vijay Singh, a disillusioned man with a traumatic past. Starring actors Vijay Singh and Nikitin Dheer in lead roles, Raktanchal currently has only two seasons but will keep you engrossed from start to finish.
Set in Mumbai in the 1990s, Thinkistan follows the journey of Hema and Amit, two young copywriters working at an advertising agency. The two are immediately at odds. City-bred Hema’s posh education garners him ample attention, while the small-towner Amit attempts to make a smooth transition to city life and balance his highly stressful job. Both seasons of Thinkistan are incredibly binge-worthy, making it a great offering from MX Player.

This Prakash Jha-directed show is based on a conman-turned-Godman, whose followers are willing to go to extreme lengths for him. Headlined by Bobby Deol, Aashram also features actors Chandan Roy Sanyal, Sachin Shroff, Anil Rastogi, and Aaditi Pohankar in pivotal roles. Each episode is a rollercoaster ride, making it a binge-worthy series that deserves your undivided attention.
Ek Thi Begum
Inspired by true events, Ek Thi Begum is the story of Ashraf Bhatkar, a.k.a. Sapna (Anuja Sathe), who is married to Zaheer – a former confidante of a mafia leader. Trying times lead Sapna to vow to destroy the mafia leader, and she uses her sensuality and acute intelligence to execute her plan. She slowly makes her way to the top, making powerful connections on the way. Although there are only two seasons of Ek Thi Begum, you might want to binge the entire show in one go. It’s that gripping!
