Director Vetri Maaran's Vada Chennai, which hit screens in 2018, recently completed 5 years of release. Ever since the film dropped in theatres, it has gained a strong following among fans, so much so that they have been asking for a sequel. The film is now streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.

What's Vada Chennai about?
Vada Chennai marks Vetri Maaran's fourth film as a director. The film delves into the socio-political issues faced by the marginalized communities in north Chennai, and sheds light on the power dynamics, corruption, and the struggles faced by people in the underbelly of the city. Dhanush plays Anbu, a skilled carrom player, who involuntarily gets involved in a gang war and is sent to prison.

Star cast and crew
The film has an ensemble star cast comprising Dhanush, Ameer, Samuthirakani, Daniel Balaji, Kishore, Pawan, Andrea Jeremiah, Aishwarya Rajesh, Sai Dheena, Pavel Navageethan to name a few. The stellar performances by the stars was one of the highlights of the film. Santhosh Narayanan scored the music. While Velraj handled the cinematography, editing was by GB Venkatesh and R Ramar. The film was bankrolled by Wunderbar Films, Lyca Productions and Grass Root Film Company.
