For common man, promoting terrorism is a lethal act, but for a terrorist, it is merely a profession to mint money and destroy the existence of humanity. This is the essence that the makers of 72 Hoorain aim to highlight in their upcoming suspense thriller.
Despite having a solid ideology behind the project, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has denied giving a certificate to the film trailer. Reports suggest that the trailer is too sensitive to be watched in a public sphere. The trailer allegedly narrates how a group of men plan to be suicide bombers to fulfil their mission.
Reacting harshly to the development, Ashoke Pandit, the coproducer of the film, addressed a press conference today on the matter. He said to the media persons: “They (Censor board) have asked us to remove some scenes and words from the trailer, but they have no objection to keeping those scenes in the film. We are questioning this contradiction. This film is not against any religion and is dealing with terrorism."
Directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, the film stars Pavan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir in the lead roles.
According to a report published in ETimes, Ashoke Pandit is planning to take a strong action against the Censor Board authorities and its president, Prasoon Joshi. “We're going against the Censor Board tomorrow. Who are the people sitting there? It's a very serious matter. All the authorities of the censor board are answerable to this decision of rejecting the certificate to the trailer of a National Award-winning film. There's something wrong in the censor board and Prasoon Joshi is answerable,” Pandit told ETimes.
Meanwhile, the trailer of 72 Hoorain has been leaked online. Also, the official Twitter account of Ashoke Pandit has been suspended indefinitely. This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more updates!
