The Vikrant Rona trailer launch event was held recently in Bengaluru on June 22, a day prior to the actual release date. For obvious reasons, the event turned out to be a star-studded one with the biggest of names from the Kannada Film Industry seen in attendance. From senior actors like Shiva Rajkumar and Ramesh Aravind to current superstars such as Rakshit Shetty, the event served as a point of rendezvous for the top league stars who also took the stage over the course to share their thoughts on about the upcoming pan-India spectacle.
Actor Rakshit Shetty, fresh off the success of 777 Charlie, has professed his admiration for Kiccha Sudeep several times in the team and the two were even slated to collaborate on an exciting project. While that still remains in the offing, Rakshit made the news nevertheless with his short-yet-heartfelt speech at the same trailer launch event. The actor may have held the microphone only for a few minutes but his words were so endearing that they prompted Sudeep to get up on the dais and embrace his colleague.
"You know, I have always maintained that one must never meet their heroes because you have such big dreams about them but when you meet them, your perspective might change. When I came to the industry, I didn't think of any hero as such but when I met Sudeep sir, he became my hero. Every time he watches a film of mine, he would send across an appreciation message - the message was quite long after he watched Ulidavaru Kandanthe. He sent one even for 777 Charlie. And every time I get a message, I wonder how Sudeep sir, who is such a pool of talent himself, is graceful enough to appreciate an actor of slightly lesser talent (referring to himself). And as an actor, if you were to put together a list of the top 5 actors of India, I would say that Sudeep sir is one of them," said Rakshit Shetty who was visibly tearing up during the speech.
The moment was made all the more heartwarming when Kiccha Sudeep rushed onto the stage to give Rakshit a hug as the crowd broke into applause. Rakshit Shetty would go on to speak about Vikrant Rona and director Anup Bhandari, whom he regards as an enterprising talent.
"Today I am very happy about Vikrant Rona because it is Anup Bhandari and he is one filmmaker I have looked up to. Always wondered what he would come up with next because I know he is a big dreamer. We need more such directors in our industry. The visuals look awesome and I am looking forward to watching the film," said Rakshit and added that the Kannada Film Industry needs many more films of this kind, considering the talent the industry boasts of.
