777 Charlie has seen a steady rise in box office collections in its first week's theatrical run. The film released worldwide on June 10 following a slew of premiere shows across India and the latest trade reports suggest that the makers have comfortably broken even and are well on course to become a mega success. Having earned close to Rs. 7 crores on Day #1 (including the previous day's premiere shows), the film has already hit the Rs. 50 crores mark (worldwide) and looks good to break many records in its home state.
As per the figures revealed by sacnilk.com, the Rakshit Shetty starrer has grossed Rs. 45.40 crores in the first seven days across the country. The Kannada version remains the biggest contributor with Rs. 37.7 crores (gross) with the rest of the regions contributing close to 7 crores - another main reason for the film's weak run outside Karnataka is the influx of releases over the past couple of weeks. Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil, is now the highest-grossing Tamil film in Tamil Nadu, having beaten Master in its pursuits. Similarly, the Telugu states too saw big releases in the form of Major, Ante Sundaraniki, and Virata Parvam in the last two weeks which has limited 777 Charlie's release. The Kannada film's release in the Hindi belt has remained poor throughout and the box office results reflect just that.
But, the makers' sound strategy targeted the home state of Karnataka and the film (reportedly) stands at the fourth position currently in the list of highest-grossers in the year 2022 - the Yash starrer stands tall at the top with RRR and James owning credible #2 and #3 postions. 777 Charlie, directed by Kiranraj K, is said to have crossed more than Rs. 10 crores in Bengaluru alone. More updates to follow soon.
