Nashawn Breedlove, who became famous for playing a supporting role in Eminem-starrer 8 Mile, passed away on Tuesday. According to reports, the 46-year-old freestyle rapper died in sleep and the cause of his death was immediately not known.

Nashawn Breedlove's mother Patricia A Breedlove confirmed the news about his passing on her Facebook page. She wrote a moving elegy to her departed son.

"It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my beloved son Nashawn Breedlove's passing. Many of you knew him by his alias" Lotto, ox", a name that echoed his resilience and determination. Nashawn was a rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. No one could deny his talent.

Nashawn's departure from this world has left an immense void in my life, one that words cannot fully express. I can't put into words the pain and hurt that I feel. He was not just my son; he was a remarkable man whose character and strength inspired all who crossed his path," Patricia wrote on her Facebook page.

He made a significant impact during the final rap battle scene, where Lotto engaged in a fierce rap battle with Eminem's character, Jimmy, alias B-Rabbit. And Lotto stuns with his personal and cutting insults leaving Jimmy in a devastated state. And it sets the stage for Jimmy's savage comeback.

Fans mourn Nashawn Breedlove's demise

News of Nashawn Breedlove's untimely passing has led to an outpouring of condolences on social media. "RIP to one of the few emcee’s to beat Eminem… Lotto from 8 Mile. Who’s friends lovingly called him, OX. You will be missed for your tenacity and aggressiveness," wrote hip-hop artist Mickey Factz.
