83: Neena Gupta heaps praises on Ranveer Singh, says 'Salute to you'

Veteran actress Neena Gupta is all praises for Ranveer Singh's portrayal of Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's directorial 83. Gupta was seen in the character of Kapil Dev's mother in the sports drama based on Indian cricket team's historic 1983 world cup win. 

Recently, Ranveer Singh, who is known for his unusual fashion choices, took to his Instagram page to share an array of pictures of himself in his latest attire, giving fashion goals to many. However, Neena Gupta couldn't hold herself back from heaping praises on the actor for his performance in 83, which recently began streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

Gupta left a comment on Ranveer's picture and wrote, "U r d best saw 83 salute to u what a performance cant get over it lots of love."

Recently, New Zealand's legendary cricketer Richard Hadlee too watched the film and penned a heartfelt letter to Kapil Dev and mentioned that he was "well portrayed by Ranveer Singh."

While 83 hit the theatres in India on December 25, 2021 and opened to extremely positive reviews by the audience and the critics alike, it couldn't witness much success at the box office as the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country right after its release and resulted in the closure of cinema halls. The film seems to have gotten a new lease of life after being available to streamm on Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar. 

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer Singh has an impressive line-up of films up his sleeve. The actor will soon be seen in the Yash Raj Films' production titled Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The actor is likely to be seen in a never-before-seen avatar in the film that also stars Shalini Pandey and Boman Irani. 

Apart from Jayeshbhai Jordaar, the Simmba actor will also be seen in the Rohit Shetty directorial titled Cirkus. He's also shooting for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Alia Bhatt, which is being helmed by Karan Johar.
