Filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi, who has tasted success across multiple mediums including theatricals, television soaps and OTT content, is back in the news for a web show. The Hari Hara Veera Mallu director’s next is for the OTT space, titled 9 Hours, for which he is the showrunner. All set to stream on Disney+ Hotstar, 9 Hours is jointly directed by Niranjan Kaushik and Jacob Verghese and produced under Krish’s home banner First Frame Entertainments. Rajeev Reddy Y and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi are the producers.
9 Hours marks the comeback of Okato Number Kurradu actor Taraka Ratna (who also makes his OTT debut). The show has a terrific lineup with a fine balance of young talent and experience including Ajay, Vinod Kumar, Madhu Shalini, Ravi Varma, Preethi Asrani, Ankith Koyya, Jwala Koti, Monica Reddy and others. The show has wrapped its shoot recently and will stream on Disney+ Hotstar on June 2. This is Hotstar’s third Telugu web series after Unheard and Parampara.
The show is touted to be a period drama revolving around three people who escape from prison to execute a major robbery. However, the challenge for the trio is that they need to return before the next roll call. What’s in store for them when they land in the bank? What are the police officers upto? How many hostages become their victims? You’ll need to wait for a few more weeks for answers. The producers of 9 Hours had also backed two web projects for aha - Run and Mastis.
Krish had last directed the Vaisshnav Tej, Rakul Preet Singh starrer Kondapolam and also produced Srinivasa Avasarala’s Nootokka Jillala Andagadu.
